Farmers in a Vibrant Winter Morning Light

It is almost end of sowing season in January but farmers are still busy in ploughing their fields to prepare for fodder crops. Winter morning are vibrant with yellow morning light and bath both farmers and fields. some farmers leading almost centuries old life in the remote Punjab villages. They still use bullock to till their field. Mostly farmers work in pairs and one rest and enjoy “HOQA” while other is busy in work. Modern farmers use tractor to plow their land but poor farmers still stick to the old ways of farming. Wheat is a food crop but farmers need to feed their cattle too. So they use a part of their land to grow fodder crops. The real global challenge is to provide organic food to people and this can be achieved by reducing population and promoting classic agriculture ways in the countryside.

Insect Basking in the Sun

Winter evenings are chill and cold and insects bask in the sun by placing themselves on the edge of a grass leave or branch. These subjects are a pure delight for macro photography and nature lovers. An insect sitting on the edge of a leave against the setting sun is no doubt a dream subject. Today while going out in the fields for photography I deliberately took with me only macro lens. When you travel with one lens you work with more concentration. That is what happens and at the end I got some marvelous macro shots.

Mystic Sunrise

Sunrise is a symbol of hope and mesmerizing experience to watch and sure a mystic experience. Winter mornings and countryside is best to watch such a memorable scene. Photography is all about observation and searching the right moment. I have plan this picture of sunrise in mystic winter morning. It is on the way of my college. In the months of December and January when humidity increase after rain, this amazing phenomenon develops. Location is most important in photography. To get good composition I use these leaves less trees. Morning light and low winter temperature gives amazing environment. This environment even becomes more dramatic in forest and any nature photographer who wants to experience this must travel to some nearest plantation.

Mountain morning 

Romantic town of Batakundi in Naran Valley Pakistan

Naran valley Pakistan is one the most scenic place in the country. World famous Lake Saiful Maluke is situated in this valley. Batakundi is a small romantic town on the way to to Babusar top from Naran. In winter while riverine water recedes, it looks more mystic and romantic. Mist and haze with yellow morning light convert the area into a mystic place. Small houses with tin roofs shimmer in the rays of morning light and low tide nullahs rattle through the  low hills making this town best place to stay for some days.

Shooting Best Nature Pictures

Those who love nature definitely like nature pictures. Capturing some stunning nature photographs is both a science and art. First of all you must know the subject you are shooting and the gear with which you are going to expose. A good macro lens is necessary for outstanding images. You can have good images by using reversal ring on your normal lens like 50mm. Following are some points to be noted while shooting nature macro shots :-

* Choose and buy the best macro lens you can afford.

* Shoot in best light. I personally prefer morning light when there is some dew on the leaves and insects. Evening light is also very fine when it turns golden specially to shoot life on the barks of the trees and leaves under the autumn trees.

* There must be no wind.

* Use remote control or self timer. Remote control is best as in self timer the subject may move to ruin your composition.

* Be creative while composing your shoots. Dynamic images are always more attractive and appreciated.

* Use some reflector like a mirror or simple white card to balance the light.

* Be creative in focus also. A shallow depth of field is more appropriate in most of the cases.

* Bracket your exposure.

* Try to shoot unique subjects with colors and textures on the surface or wings.

* Most important is the background. It must not be distracting or messy and subject should come out of that. The only exception is the camouflaged animals.

There is a always a survival game going on in the nature and nature photographers try to photograph this phenomenon in an artistic way. Art of photographing an insect in its natural environment is the key element in the modern day nature photography. Most insects try to fade out in their natural environment and some have mastered the art at a perfect level.They have to defend themselves against predators and camouflage is the best strategy.  One have to be very keen eyed to search and locate for such subjects. These creatures are clever enough and to shoot them require extra care and patience.
