Farmers in a Vibrant Winter Morning Light

It is almost end of sowing season in January but farmers are still busy in ploughing their fields to prepare for fodder crops. Winter morning are vibrant with yellow morning light and bath both farmers and fields. some farmers leading almost centuries old life in the remote Punjab villages. They still use bullock to till their field. Mostly farmers work in pairs and one rest and enjoy “HOQA” while other is busy in work. Modern farmers use tractor to plow their land but poor farmers still stick to the old ways of farming. Wheat is a food crop but farmers need to feed their cattle too. So they use a part of their land to grow fodder crops. The real global challenge is to provide organic food to people and this can be achieved by reducing population and promoting classic agriculture ways in the countryside.

Winters are always fascinating for countryside photography. Farmers start their daily working very early in the morning and you can witness bull carts and donkey carts are roaming on dirt roads in brilliant morning light. Ploughing the soil with bulls is still in practice in many parts of Punjab, both in India and Pakistan. Farmers and Mustard Flowers

In the season of winter farmer families in Punjab province of both India and Pakistan mostly use mustard plants as food source. They cook these plants as a pottage and eat it with maize chapati. It is a popular dish in the villages of Punjab and known as “Saag aur Maki ki Roti” with butter or “Makhan”

Life is beautiful around the rivers in Asian countries like Pakistan and India. Farmers and herders go to their fields early in the morning and come back home late evening. Village life in Asia is simple and beautiful. Villages are small settlement mostly residing in beautiful landscape. Every geographical region have its own style of village life but the main color of life is the same. People in villages are simple and full of life. They are having very few facilities but have a contented heart. Village life is hard in some cases as there are almost negligible medical care. Education and schooling is also  non existent. But people are generally happy and try to keep them busy either in work or play. There are numerous village fairs in these village and most of these are linked with some shrines of saints . Sufism and sufi tradition is very strong in these villages. Artisan like potters do there work whole day in their specific streets. Village life in Asia is worth seeing.

There are many shrines, small and large in different villages of Pakistan. Mystic and sfui tradition is very rich in these villages. Sufism and mysticism have many colors and form here. Some shrines do not allow to dance but at most malangs and sufis dance on the beat of the drum to get the rhythm of life.

It looks like a scene from some some movie but village mornings are so fictional in look that one can not believe on his eyes. Beauty is beyond description in winter mornings when sun peep out from fog and mist with great warm tones of yellow and red.

Villagers are people with full of life. Their sports are exciting , thrilling and powerful. Bull race or Suhaga race and bull cart race are a one of popular games in the region. Tent pegging is also very popular in remote areas around river Ravi where keeping horses is still a strong tradition.

The difference between a good and bad photograph is the light. these two farmers were busy in watering their fields in a misty morning of winter. As the sun rose, it illuminate the whole scene. A study of light and life

An amazing character of winter days in warm and humid areas is the wafting of mist in the morning. As the temperature drops down ,it condense the water vapors which are illuminated by the first sun rays producing amazingly mystic environment. It was a morning of January and farmers were going for sugarcane harvest. Most of the farmers reach their farms very early in the morning and work till late evening. Their dog was with them and their silhouettes were an amazing subject for photography.
