Cloudy Mystic Morning

The sky was dull but with clouds and blue light for a change.We were there after breakfast and the air feels fresh. We’re prepared to shoot in this mesmerized environment on rive side.. A small seasonal lake was not too far off that is the place we were going to begin our days shooting. I was with my two dearest friends, all nature lovers and photographers.

The ground was slippery on the way to the lake but not very tough. we drove our car almost up to the bank of the lake. The lake looked amazing not too far off, with its consummately level surface. Encompassing it were trails of smoke ascending to the sky originating from the nearby fishermen’s huts.

We started looking for the best perspectives to shoot the parked boats. we had never seen such a romantic morning. Landscape was so fascinating and enchanting. Parked boats added a strong foreground in the pictures. This one is my favorite.

Parked Boats

Spring evenings are amazing to photograph objects like parked boats in a river. Keeping in view the light of spring I manage a visit to river Ravi in Punjab Pakistan which is about one and a half hour drive from my home. It was worth a travel as I got few memorable shots of boats and life around the river.

River Ravi is one of the most primitive rivers in Asia. Many cities of Indus civilization developed on the surroundings of this river. Life on the river is still have ancient touch specially the communications sources. People cross the river on wooden boats. Evening light paint these boats golden and surely a gift for landscape photographers.

River side is a paradise for documentary photography. Life have many dimensions here. Fishermen busy in fishing, mending their nets and relaxing after day long work are some amazing subjects to cover. In the morning and evening light subjects look some characters from other world. Children playing in the water and woman folk preparing meal on wood fire with smoke wafting out is enough to ignite the creativity of a documentary photographer. Colorful boats parked on the river bank are popular subject for both in landscape and documentary photography. A November evening light help me to get this shot where life is in its simple but beautiful form. Fisherman are simple and hospitable. They are having their own culture and traditions and extremely cooperative with photographers. One thing is common in both and that is the love for nature.
