Farmers and Mustard Flowers

In the season of winter farmer families in Punjab province of both India and Pakistan mostly use mustard plants as food source. They cook these plants as a pottage and eat it with maize chapati. It is a popular dish in the villages of Punjab and known as “Saag aur Maki ki Roti” with butter or “Makhan”

Traditional Sweet From Sugarcane Juice

To make this traditional sweet known as “Gur” farmers heat the sugarcane juice till it is converted into some gelatinous mass. Then they shake it vigorously in a flat wooden pan and make sweet cakes when it settled.
