Photography is a painting with light. Light make the images. It is very tough to tell  what is good and what is bad light  but it is a learning during the process. It is experience that make you able to understand how light will behave on sensor of the camera. Some time light looks very nice but gave very dull results and some time a dull light imprints amazing images on the sensor. So the temperature of the light is also very important.  Here are some examples of dancing light photography which is the result of my last fifteen year experience.

Macro World And Light

Spider webs are tough to shoot in even light.  to pop up web you need a dramatic, vibrant and warm light . web must be back lit to be exposed with sharp details.

Dancing Light At water Bodies

Rivers, lakes and ponds shimmer in the evening and morning light and lure the viewer in general and photographers in particular to shoot them.

Mountain villages are having beauty a beauty of landscape. But life of people is generally tough. Women folk have to fetch water from far areas while men work in the fields to earn their living. Even the snowfall women have to work for their livings.

Documentary Photography captures both faces of life, dark and light. It is a combination of joy and sorrows. Shepherds experience very deep realities of life. They travel from place to place in search of pasture lands. Young boys of shepherds families start their job at very early age and continue to be shepherd till death. Documentary photographer feels special delight to shoot and talk with these people. They are most favored subject among the lovers of travel and people photography. Pictures of the shepherds are always romantic and takes the viewers to an unseen dreamy world.

Culture and life

Diversity in the life style and culture is the key feature in the Asian region in general and in subcontinent in particular. Here are some glimpses of life activities in Pakistani villages showing the beauty and simplicity of people of Asia. People still have classic way of living with traveling on bicycles on mud roads. Life looks slow but tranquil and peaceful. Delight is beyond description to see these people moving on the roads in conversation with old friends. Village fairs and sports competitions are also a fascination to watch. People have excitement and joy in the festivals. They enjoy with their pets like dogs and horses. Keeping bulls for agricultural work and for sports is still in vogue in remote Asian villages. These farmers spend lot of time in raising these cattle and enjoy the sports like bull race and cart race.

Making ghur ( sweet cakes ) is now rare in the villages but still some areas have the tradition alive. Buffalo are raised for milk and meat in most regions of rural subcontinent. Clay pots were once dominating the kitchens of Asia. Now some villages have potters tribes who are still making these pots. This art is now fading and losing its importance as the other materials like plastic and stainless steel have replaced the clay pots. Documentary photography mostly focus on these activities and most of my photography is dominated by pictures of these farmers in their daily life.

Shepherds Returning Home

These shepherds starts their journey early in the spring towards hilly areas having green meadows and vast pasture lands.They starts their journey from the plains and continue  to travel till the end of august. They start their return back to their houses in the more warmer places at the end of August and reached in plains in November. When you visit hill station like Naran Valley in the first week of September, you encounter many herds of sheep,horses and donkeys. Shepherds are simple and kind heart people and very hospitable. Most of the time they offer butter, cheese and yogurt to the visitors for no cost.
