Diversity in the life style and culture is the key feature in the Asian region in general and in subcontinent in particular. Here are some glimpses of life activities in Pakistani villages showing the beauty and simplicity of people of Asia. People still have classic way of living with traveling on bicycles on mud roads. Life looks slow but tranquil and peaceful. Delight is beyond description to see these people moving on the roads in conversation with old friends. Village fairs and sports competitions are also a fascination to watch. People have excitement and joy in the festivals. They enjoy with their pets like dogs and horses. Keeping bulls for agricultural work and for sports is still in vogue in remote Asian villages. These farmers spend lot of time in raising these cattle and enjoy the sports like bull race and cart race.

Making ghur ( sweet cakes ) is now rare in the villages but still some areas have the tradition alive. Buffalo are raised for milk and meat in most regions of rural subcontinent. Clay pots were once dominating the kitchens of Asia. Now some villages have potters tribes who are still making these pots. This art is now fading and losing its importance as the other materials like plastic and stainless steel have replaced the clay pots. Documentary photography mostly focus on these activities and most of my photography is dominated by pictures of these farmers in their daily life.

Life Of A Farmer

Life of a farmer in subcontinent is very much harmonious with nature. He rises very early in the morning and after his prayers be ready for the fields. He have a pet schedules for the day according to the season. He gets his cattle with him in the morning and brings them back to home in the evening.

Devotee Woman

Sufi saint Madhu Lala Hussian’s shrine is in Lahore Pakistan and this  devotee woman was offering her devotion there. Mostly devotees visit the shrines to have some metaphysical favor of the saint for their desires to be fulfilled. At these shrines thousand and thousand people pay their visit to get their souls satisfied. Many of these lit oil lamps there and some help to keep the holy fire on.

Red and yellow colors show a life with happiness. In winter mornings and evenings village women go in the fields to collect mustard plants which are used as vegetable. Mustard fields are like carpets with yellow flowers embedded in green background specially in winter and a lady with red shawl is definitely a heart touching scene. Farmer women are hardworking. They manage the home and also help their husbands in the fields.
